Care & Serving

Keep it perfectly clear

Craft ice arrives at optical clarity — a few simple habits keep it that way from our freezer to the last pour. Here's how to store, temper and serve Aqua Frost so every cube performs.

Clear ice is a living thing

A block of dense, bubble-free ice holds its shape for far longer than the cloudy stuff — but it is also sensitive to sudden temperature change. Move it straight from a deep freezer into a warm glass and the thermal shock can craze the surface with fine white cracks.

The fix is simple: let the ice temper for a few minutes so its surface warms evenly. Handled well, a single King Cube will chill a spirit for the better part of an hour without ever clouding, cracking, or diluting the pour.

Four steps to a flawless serve

01

Receive & inspect

Check the delivery on arrival. Our ice ships in insulated, sealed packs and should reach you solid and clear. Move it into your freezer within a few minutes of the cold-chain hand-off.

02

Store cold & dry

Keep blocks at −18°C or below, sealed in their pouch or an airtight container. Airtight storage prevents freezer odours and stops slow sublimation from frosting the surface.

03

Temper before use

Pull the ice out 3–5 minutes before serving and let the surface turn glossy. This equalises the temperature so it won't crack when it meets liquid — the single most important habit.

04

Handle & serve

Lift with tongs or a clean scoop, never bare hands. Place the ice in the glass first, then pour over it. One large cube beats a handful of small ones for a slow, clean chill.

Do
  • Temper 3–5 minutes before the ice meets any liquid.
  • Store sealed at −18°C or colder, away from strong-smelling food.
  • Use tongs or a dedicated scoop for a zero-touch serve.
  • Add the ice first, then pour the spirit over it.
Don't
  • × Drop freezer-cold ice straight into a warm glass — it will craze.
  • × Leave blocks unsealed — they pick up odours and frost over.
  • × Refreeze ice that has fully melted; clarity won't return.
  • × Handle with bare, warm hands — fingerprints etch the surface.
